Musical Theatre classes for children aged 10-13 at Singapore’s only dedicated Musical Theatre Academy

Who is a West End Star?

A West End Star is a 10-13 year old with a passion for the stage and who loves to sing, dance and act. Many of our West End Stars have attended music, drama or dance lessons at school and come to Sing’theatre Academy to put all three skills together. Our West end stars are ready to be challenged with material, shows and classes that will extend their performance range and start to turn theatre classes from fun enrichment to skills to develop and take with them through all aspects of their life.

Our professional teaching staff are there to guide all our West End stars to confidence on stage and our classes are perfect for those performers who are ready to put all three skills together in a supportive and encouraging environment.

What can West End Stars lead to?

Many of our West End Stars will progress through the academy initially onto our Broadway Stars classes when they turn 13 through to our adult classes and beyond. Our students will regularly be invited to perform in our Sing’theatre Community Outreach projects such as Music Fest and Singathon.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE COURSE

In Sing’theatre Academy, our academic year is split into two semesters, Semester 1 (14 weeks – Aug to Dec) & Semester 2 (20 weeks – Jan to Jun).

In Semester 1 (Showcase Semester), we focus on developing our student’s triple threat skills, singing, dancing & acting that they will use for the end of semester public performance (Showcase) , while in Semester 2 (Show Semester), we work with our students over 20 weeks to put on a full-scale musical with set, props and costumes!

Theme: Movie Musicals Magic

What happens when the magic of musical theatre meets the big screen?

This semester, Sing’theatre Academy students will explore the wonderful world of Movie Musicals, working on songs, scenes and characters inspired by some of the most beloved musical films and stage productions adapted for cinema. Inspired by the spirit of classics such as Wicked, The Greatest Showman, Billy Elliot, Grease, Hairspray and many more, students will explore a selection of songs and scenes chosen to suit each group’s age, interests and abilities.

Along the way, they will build confidence, creativity and performance skills through singing, acting and movement.

Bringing together everything they have learned throughout the semester, students will take to the stage in an end-of-semester showcase celebrating the music, energy and storytelling that have made movie musicals a favourite across generations.

We have No Make-Up classes at Sing’theatre Academy; any missed classes will not be refunded and will have to be forfeited.
The final rehearsal dates and show dates are mandatory
Sing’theatre Academy T-shirts must be worn to all classes.
For Semester 2 only: Additional costume fees will be automatically added to the price to pay. Each student will receive a costume to wear in the show, which they can take home afterward.
For Semester 2: The tickets for the end-of-semester show will be on sale during the semester.
For Semester 2: Additional fees may be charged for, class materials, dance wear, etc
