365 hours OF music

Bringing Music to the Community!

Sing’theatre is proud to present the launch of 365 Hours of Music, our community outreach program that promises to bring music and musical theatre to various vulnerable community segments with limited access to it all year round!

With 365 Hours of Music, we hope to improve the quality of life in Singapore using the arts and build a better society with music and musical theatre!

At Sing’theatre, we strongly believe that everyone, no matter their socio-economic background or physical ability, should be able to access the arts, mainly music & musical theatre! Thus, with this program, we will strive to reach these communities to provide them with a bridge to the arts and give them the opportunity to interact and experience the arts.

There are two ways in which we bring music to these communities:

  1. We organise concerts in healthcare institutions’ lobbies or wards and bring live music to them!
  2. We organise weekly singing/music classes to engage and give a voice to the “voiceless”!

Since 2013, Sing’theatre has embarked on a journey to bring music to hospitals, with special programmes such as MusicFest @SGH, Musical Rendezvous @NUH, Once Upon a Song @TTSH, Sing Me a Story @KKH & 365 Days Of Music@Singhealth. From these experiences, we believe all the more strongly that music has the ability to stimulate the senses, uplift the spirit, and help the patient’s journey to recovery. In the past nine years, we have touched thousands of lives through our programmes, inspiring us to do even more!

Combining our experience and expertise with our status as a professional theatre company and established musical theatre academy gives us the confidence to launch this ambitious programme, allowing us to bring quality music to hospitals and the best singing and musical theatre training!

With 365 Hours of Music, we hope to improve the quality of life in Singapore using the arts and build a better society with music and musical theatre!

Our Commitment!

To bring live music to healthcare institutions in Singapore:

These institutions include but are not limited to KK Hospital (KKH), Singapore General Hospital (SGH), Changi General Hospital (CGH), Sengkang Community Hospital (SKCH), National University Hospital (NUH) & Outram Community Hospital (OCH). We aim to provide two types of Performances, lobby and ward concerts. This is to ensure that whether in the lobby or the wards, patients, caretakers and staff alike can enjoy performances brought directly to them.

  • Lunchtime concerts: They will take place at the atrium of the healthcare institutions during lunchtime. This will be a free performance and open to the public, including outpatient patients.
  • Ward visits: we will bring live music to the patient’s bedside, engage them and reach those unable to enjoy the public performances at the atrium.

To provide weekly singing/musical theatre classes to engage vulnerable communities and empower them with music:

We aim to provide a platform for the voiceless to share their voice and talent. At the end of the sessions, we will organise a concert starring them! We aim to provide training sessions to the following communities:

  • For our silver (senior) community
  • For our visually impaired community
  • For our youths with Autism Disorder Spectrum
  • For our foreign domestic workers’ community
