Sing’theatre: Hi TJ, welcome to Sing’theatre. Can we ask you few question to introduce ? TJ: Yes, with pleasure.
What is your idea of perfect happiness? A happy family around you and doing a job that makes you want to get out of bed in the mornings.
What is your most treasured possession? Photos! Photos of memories and my friends and family are very important to me. Also my collection of Flat caps!
What is your favourite occupation? Musical Theatre of Course!
Which living person do you most admire? My Parents for always supporting everything myself and my brother wanted to do.
What is your current state of mind? Excited! Very excited for the future and to begin my new chapter at Sing Theatre!
When and where were you happiest? Drama School. When you could create theatre every day with inspiring classmates with no “Adult Worries”
Which talent would you most like to have? I would love to learn how to fly a plane.
What do you consider your greatest achievement? Helping several of my students successfully get into drama schools and follow their dreams!
Where would you most like to live? Too many to mention. I want to live in lots of places and see the world.
What is your most marked characteristic? Ambitiousness
Who are your favorite musical’s character? Skimbleshanks From Cats – I loved playing this role at Drama School as he had lots of my qualities!
Who is your hero of fiction? Mickey Mouse
Who are your heroes in real life? My Family!!! and Roald Dahl, Steven Sondheim, Walt Disney
What is your motto? Strive to be a better version of yourself everyday
Bio
TJ has lived in Singapore since 2013 and has taught at many of the top international schools and theatre academy’s as well as performing in various companies and productions. Most recently TJ has been a full time performer and show host at Universal Studios Singapore. TJ graduated from the UK with A First Class Honours Musical Theatre Degree and has been working professionally in Singapore ever since.
In 2014 TJ was the vocal coach for the Von Trapp Children during the Singapore production of Sound Of Music. He was also proud that 8 of the final cast were his regular Musical Theatre Students. As well as musical theatre teacher, TJ is a Musical Director and Singing coach. TJ has been choral director for the Boys Aloud Choir at Tanglin Trust School which promotes boy’s choral singing and have performed several performances to rave reviews! TJ is also a passionate Singing Teacher and teaches vocal technique lessons to professional actors as well as private voice students around Singapore. TJ is also an audition coach and has coached several students from Singapore who have gone onto top UK drama schools such as: Tring Park, Sylvia Young, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Guilford School of Acting.
TJ is thrilled to be joining the Sing Theatre Team and hopes to take the academy from strength to strength and encourage all the students to develop their skills in Singing, Dancing and Acting and inspire a love for Musical Theatre in all.
