This 5-week workshop explores the works of legendary musical theatre choreographer Bob Fosse. (Chicago, Sweet Charity, Pippin and Cabaret) Join our expert teachers as you learn songs and dances from some of his most iconic shows and discover new skills in dance, singing and acting. We will explore the elements of his unique dance style and discover the acting and singing skills that were used in many of his iconic routines.
Each week you will work with a top musical theatre professional on a new skill area using the works of Bob Fosse to develop each skill area through staging on of his most famous routines.
The workshop is suited to beginner and intermediate performers who would like to improve their skills in singing dancing and acting.

Meet the Professionals:
Karen Lacey – Dance
National and International acclaimed choreographer, Karen Lacey has received various awards in Europe for her Latin Fusion, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Contemporary work, alongside an Artistic Direction award at the Barcelona International Dance Festival. Her Choreography has been seen in the commercial world for clients such as the Nike, Chanel, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Dom Perignon, BBC, MTV, SingTel and Unilever, among others.
Prior to setting up White Noise Creations (WNC) in Singapore, Karen was a professional and competitive dancer in Latin and Ballroom dancing, in addition to choreographing for award winning musical theatre productions. Her aim through WNC is to raise the profile of dance and performing arts in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region, by sharing her international knowledge, extended network and experience alongside creating exciting work. Karen’s choreography style is vibrant, exciting and theatrical. Her exceptional and broad knowledge of dance and the performing arts enables her to fulfill any performance brief to create a show tailored to any platform; corporate event, competitive floor, theatre or television.
Jenilee Yelland – Dance
From England, Jenilee graduated with a BA(Hons) Musical Theatre from the Arts Educational School, London.
Performing took Jenilee around the World in a variety of stage productions such as ‘Annie’ in Hong Kong and at Marina Bay Sands, here in Singapore. Jenilee was the Lead Production Singer on a cruise liner for South Africa and the Mediterranean, as well as many musical credits in London and the UK for stage and screen. Highlights include ‘Fly with the Stars’ at the London Palladium, ‘Betwixt!’ at the Ambassadors Theatre in London’s West End, ‘Best of West End’ at the Leicester Square Theatre, playing the lead role of Roberta in ‘The Railway Children’ showcase at The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, performing in various pantomime’s and taking the role of Dance Captain on Dick Whittington. Most recently Jenilee performed as a Nun in ‘The Sound of Music’ at Marina Bay Sands.
Jenilee has taught Musical Theatre, Creative Drama and Early Years at MCTB (UK), Expressions (UK) and Centre Stage School of the Arts (Singapore). Jenilee currently performs regularly for Sing’Theatre on various projects including ‘Sing Me A Story’ @ NUH and Music Fest @ SGH.
Andy Benjamin Cai – Dance
Andy is one of Singapore’s top choreographers and is the Chief Choreographer for Singapore’s National Day Parade. He also regularly choreographs for local Singapore Musical theatre companies and his recent works include Mamma White Snake (WILDRICE), Detention Katong (Dream Academy), RENT (Pangdemonium) and The LKY Musical (SRT).
Andy will take students through an intensive musical theatre technique session to improve their dance technique. This will be followed by a choreography session where they will learn a routine from a popular musical theatre show.
Joanne Ho – Ensemble Singing
Joanne is one of Singapore’s Leading Musical Theatre Music Directors and is an associate artist of the SRT, a part-time lecturer at Lasalle College of the Arts and she trained at the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Joanne most recently Music Directed Pandemonium’s Fun Home and SRT’s Chicken Little.
Joanne will take students through a challenging ensemble singing workshop where students will work on musical theatre harmony, ensemble singing techniques and sight-reading tips. She will also share some industry tips on how to ace your singing audition including song choices, sheet music preparation and audition advice.
TJ Taylor – Singing Technique
TJ is a musical theatre performer and voice technique teacher from the UK and is Head Musical Theatre Teacher at Sing’theatre Academy as well as a part-time lecturer at Lasalle College of the Arts. He specialises in musical theatre voice techniques and acting through song and teaches students a strong vocal foundation based on anatomy and character interpretation. He has successfully prepared many students for successful auditions for drama schools and castings around the world in Singapore, UK, USA.
TJ will provide students with a detailed vocal warm up that serves as a safe foundation for any singing technique work. He will then focus on key musical theatre qualities such as legit, patter, speech and belt, how these sounds are formed and how to incorporate them safely into your songs. TJ will also give acting through song tips as well as singing audition advice.
