STAGE DOOR – Adult Musical Theatre Class

The Stage Door Adult Musical Theatre Class is designed to help students develop the core skills of singing, dancing, and acting required for Musical Theatre.

This class is designed for students who want to build musical theatre foundations and improve their technique with industry professionals. This is also the perfect class for anyone wishing to develop the skills to prepare for auditioning for the Showstoppers Musical Theatre Ensemble.

Over the course, students will follow a curriculum tailored to help each of them develop at their own pace. It is ideal for students who wish to build performing skills in a supportive and non-competitive environment

During the course, students will learn voice techniques, explore ensemble singing and perform a variety of repertoire. They will also learn how to develop character in scenes and songs, explore the physical journey of a character, and improve stage presence and text analysis through acting segments. Students will in addition look at a variety of jazz techniques that form the core of Musical Theatre dance, as well as perform several Musical Theatre routines.

At the end of the course, Stage Door students will be involved in a live performance.

There is NO AUDITION necessary and places are limited to 10 students per class. This is a fully vaccinated class.

A basic level of commitment* is required for the course and we ask that students be available for at least 10 out of 12 sessions as absence is disruptive to the class. (No make-up classes are given).

*Please note that students will need to memorise some scripts, dances, and songs which are mostly learned in class time but there will be some limited practice required in-between classes.

Term fees: $55 x 12 classes = $660 (Please note that additional fees may be charged for class materials, dancewear, show tickets, etc).
